One Direction star Harry Styles has dismissed speculation that being hungover was the reason why he threw up on stage recently.

As previously reported, the British heartthrob was filmed being sick during a US gig before taking refuge underneath the band's steps and sitting out of a song.

Some internet rumours suggested that it could have been a knock-on effect from alcohol but speaking on Nick Grimshaw's BBC Radio 1 Breakfast Show, Styles said it was due to eating too much. He said:

"Everyone thinks it's because I was drinking. It was actually because I ate a dinner too close to stage time, so I was just too full."

In the same interview, Styles was put in touch with studio guest Ke$ha, who has said in the past that she admires the 19-year-old.

The chat was an awkward one, with the 'Tik Tok' star berating Grimshaw afterwards for setting up the surprise call.
