Harry Styles' mother auctions off his bow tie for charity

The mother of One Direction's Harry Styles has donated a bow tie that he wore during his 2012 BRIT Awards appearance (pictured left) to an online auction as a 'birthday gift' to the charity, Believe in Magic.

The organisation chosen by Anne Twist and her husband Robin works to help terminally ill children enjoy a once in a lifetime experience and she decided to put the fashion item under the hammer to celebrate its upcoming second anniversary.

In a statement that accompanies the lot, Twist explains that money raised from the auction will be donated to the charity and it's an incredibly worthwhile one:

"Having seen the incredible work that Believe in Magic do and witnessed the difference it can make, Robin and I decided that, having had the piece at home for a while, we would donate this as a 'Happy Birthday' gift to them."

She added: "The charity is officially two years old on 1st August 2013 when the auction is scheduled to finish."

The current bid (July 26) stands at £3,500 ($5,379) and you can access the listing here.
