One Direction reveal excitement over writing their own songs

UK based boyband One Direction recently confirmed that their forthcoming new album, entitled 'Midnight Memories', is due to be released on November 25 and confessed that it's particularly exciting as they've been more hands-on with the songwriting.

Member Louis Tomlinson took to his official Twitter page over the weekend and told his followers that they've had more creative control this time around and have penned some tracks themselves: "Can't wait for you all to hear the songs we've written :)"

It was confirmed last week that a song written by McFly has been recorded by the lads and singer Danny Jones told Digital Spy that he's excited they liked the cut because they're such great and talented guys: "We obviously love the boys. They're amazing guys. We've got a new track on their album. I'm glad that they came to us because we can give them good music."

Meanwhile, producer and N*E*R*D star Pharrell Williams (pictured above left with heartthrob Liam Payne) has admitted that he's currently "in talks" to work with One Direction on this new record: "We are definitely talking. From what I've heard of their new stuff I'm pleasantly surprised. Their new stuff is definitely a progression and an elevation. I will hopefully be getting involved as we are definitely in talks."

'Midnight Memories' is now available to pre-order from iTunes in the UK for £8.99.
