One Direction remain favourites to record England World Cup 2014 song

One Direction are currently the most likely act to record England's World Cup 2014 song, according to bookmakers Coral.

The company are allowing speculative fans to bet on who they think will record the official song to accompany the England football team's trip to Brazil for next year's World Cup extravaganza.

One Direction are 11/1 favourites to land the job, whilst comedian Peter Kay is second on the list with odds of 13/1.

Olly Murs, who has been acting as an FA ambassador this year, is 15/1 and actor James Corden is at 17/1.

Other names in the mix include Robbie Williams (21/1), James Arthur (34/1) and Adele (34/1).

One Direction could follow in the footsteps of Embrace, who wrote the track 'World at Your Feet' for England's 2010 World Cup campaign.

Other acts to have penned World Cup songs for England in the past include New Order and Ant & Dec.
