A spokesperson for One Direction has denied reports that Harry Styles will go solo next year.

The singer is constantly the subject of speculation that he may jump ship from the boyband to try his luck at going it alone.

The most recent reports suggested that he could go solo in 2014 and release an album - despite the fact that One Direction are travelling world in their biggest ever tour that year.

A rep for the group has now put fans' minds at rest by telling the Daily Mail that the rumour is "complete nonsense".

One Direction meanwhile are currently on a promotional trip around mainland Europe as they continue to plug their wares.

Following a visit to Spain, Louis Tomlinson tweeted today (December 12): "Italy! Wasssaaaappppppppppp."
