Will Ferrell has praised the One Direction lads after performing alongside them on Saturday Night Live.

The actor appeared on the US TV show this weekend (December 7) to sing 'Afternoon Delight' with the Anchorman cast and the boyband.

The quintet seem to have made an impression on the Hollywood actor, who told Absolute Radio:

"They're actually great guys. They're in that boyband world, but they have no attitude. They're actually the sweetest guys and they were so excited to sing 'Afternoon Delight' with us. And they have beautiful hair, so I can't argue with them."

When asked if they rival his newsreader character Ron Burgundy in the hair stakes, Ferrell replied:

"Ron was a little jealous. He'd love it if he could get his hair to do that thing that Harry does. But that's next to impossible."
