Will Ferrell has lavished praise on One Direction and their handsome good looks.

The A-list actor recently teamed up with the group on US TV's Saturday Night Live in the character of Anchorman's Ron Burgundy.

They sang 'Afternoon Delight' together and it seems the five British-Irish lads made an impact on Ferrell.

He told Ryan Seacrest, however, that the smouldering Zayn Malik may be a match for the likes of Harry Styles and Niall Horan.

Ferrell said: "I mean, I don’t want to start any controversy...Niall is very personable. Harry is known for that great head of hair. They’re both dream boats, let’s face it...And, Zayn, once you look in to his eyes, it’s lights out. So is Zayn the new Harry and Niall? I don't think I'll be able to sleep until I figure this out!"

Whilst the cast of Anchorman appeared on Saturday Night Live to promote their new sequel, One Direction were out in support of their new album 'Midnight Memories'.

It doesn't need much promotion, however, with their fans lapping up the record in their droves and sending it to No.1 across the world.
