One Direction's Harry Styles has reached out to Matt Cardle after the singer apparently went into rehab.

Reports spread recently that suggested the X Factor 2010 winner had sought help for addiction to painkillers.

Cardle later posted a message online stating that he is taking time out to "get better" ahead of an upcoming tour.

He said: "I want to thank my fans for all your lovely messages of support. I'm getting myself better... I want to be ready to give it 110 per cent on tour next year. I love you all and will see you the other side."

This prompted Harry Styles to reach out to the embattled singer on Twitter, saying: "See you soon brother.x."

One Direction finished third on the same X Factor series as victor Cardle.
