Students lead the way in fashion with Bee Original Forever
Students from colleges and universities across London were given the opportunity by Bee Original Forever (Just Bee Original) to critique and style a new fashion line by Duffleman Ltd, called Ferguson London.
Bee Original Forever (Just Bee Original) is an international project to promote self awareness and highlight social issues through various media outlets. Bee Original Forever’s creativity in music, fashion and youth development can only be done through organisations bringing together their specialised knowledge to help people in communities locally and internationally.
The selected focus group also looked at a range of cloth materials and colours they thought would be suitable for a range of garments, which included tailor made leisure wear, smart causal jackets and a new range of knitwear garments. Marketing strategies, legal regulations and business plans were also discussed with the students. They were also given the opportunity to gain valuable work experience and active involvement in the company’s development.
Their work experience includes shadowing designers and creating new concepts for the Men’s summer line. Fashion student Nicole King from The London College of Fashion said “This was a great opportunity to be part of a new exciting brand that has a client base, which has included All Saints, Firetrap and Asos. This gives students like me a chance to gain employment as it has become harder”. This is a program by Bee Original Forever (Just Bee Original) giving students a chance to gain advice, mentoring and employment from companies within the film, music and fashion industry.
The founder of Bee Original Forever Cyril Ofori Nelson said “It’s great to see the participants learn so much spending a day engaging in a project that can enhancing their careers.”
