Love's twists and turns take center stage as acclaimed singer-songwriter Eric Devries captivates audiences with his latest single, "Shadow of a Man," from his eagerly anticipated album, "Traveler's Heart." In a poignant exploration of love's complexities, Devries masterfully delves into the agony of heartbreak and the bittersweet realization of growth and wisdom.

"Love hurts, doesn't it? Everything seems to be going fine until.. you find yourself saying things you never imagined," reflects Devries not without self-deprecation. "As if acting in a B-movie, being the bad guy. Somehow hearing your own voice saying things you shouldn't, realizing things are falling apart but not being able to stop it. It has happened to me and I guess we've all been there.''

With hauntingly beautiful vocals and soul-stirring melodies, "Shadow of a Man '' resonates with listeners who have experienced the anguish of lost love. Backed by the talented ensemble of the legendary British singer songwriter Iain Matthews (Fairport Convention / Matthews Southern Comfort) and Dutch Grand Dame of indie pop Fay Lovsky on vocals, Devries delivers a raw and emotive performance that lingers long after the song ends.

Filmed and edited by Fred van der Heiden at The Stables in Boskoop, The Netherlands, the accompanying music video shows the Song & Dance Band on stage where they usually excel. With Janos Koolen on banjo and Joost van Es on violin showing their virtuosity and Lucas Beukers supplying a steady foundation leaving Devries to deliver his songs expertly.

"Shadow of a Man" is a testament to Devries' commitment to storytelling through music. His upcoming album, "Traveler's Heart," is a testament to his dedication to crafting authentic, heartfelt narratives that resonate with audiences worldwide. Recorded almost entirely live at Studio Doornenburg in The Netherlands, the album offers an exploration of life's trials and triumphs.
"This album is a reflection of human frailty, of love lost or unrequited, and the resilience of the human spirit," shares Devries. "It's about following your heart, even against better judgment, and embracing the journey, however winding it may be." And traveling appears to be a running theme throughout the album, be it in mind or indeed on the road.

"Traveler's Heart" features Devries alongside Janos Koolen on banjo, mandolin and guitar, Joost van Es on violin, and Lucas Beukers on upright bass, with additional harmonies by Iain Matthews and Fay Lovsky. Producer Janos Koolen's meticulous attention to detail and the sparse, acoustic arrangements leaning towards Bluegrass create a rich tapestry of sound that perfectly complements Devries' evocative lyrics.

With a discography spanning two decades, Eric Devries continues to captivate audiences with his signature blend of Americana and folk music. From his debut solo album in 2004 to his latest release, Devries' music transcends boundaries and speaks to the universal human experience
"Shadow of a Man"will be available on all major streaming platforms on May 24, offering listeners a glimpse into the soul-stirring journey that awaits on "Traveler's Heart."
