Chicago, IL – Chicago blues-rock quartet The Empty Pockets have just announced the release of their highly anticipated new single, “Wolfpack” (Live), featuring renowned jazz saxophonist Elliot Scozzaro. The track drops on Wednesday, April 2nd, and will be available on all digital platforms. This electrifying collaboration is taken from their upcoming full-length live album, Live In Buffalo.

The Empty Pockets—Josh Solomon (guitar, vocals), Erika Brett (keyboards, vocals), Nate Bellon (bass, vocals), and Adam Balasco (drums)—are known for their bold and genre-defying sound, blending Americana, folk, rock ‘n’ roll, and roots soul. Over the years, the band has captivated audiences worldwide through their powerful live performances and memorable collaborations with legendary artists like Kenny Loggins, Simon Kirke (of Bad Company and Free), and Al Stewart. Now, with Scozzaro joining the mix, the band takes their music to thrilling new heights.

“We’ve played with Elliot as a guest from time to time, but this is the first time we’ve had his sax on a full set,” says guitarist Josh Solomon. “Damn… it was so much fun that we were excited to listen back. When we did listen back, it really begged to be released!”

The new track, "Wolfpack" (Live), is an exhilarating, bluesy romp, capturing the raw energy and impromptu magic that can only be found onstage. The synergy between The Empty Pockets and Scozzaro is palpable, with the saxophonist’s alto sax chops perfectly complementing the band’s smooth yet energetic groove. Erika Brett’s commanding lead vocal anchors the track, while Nate Bellon’s bass and Adam Balasco’s compact yet powerful drumming create a solid foundation. Josh Solomon’s Fender guitar roars over the top, riffing off Scozzaro’s soaring sax, in a musical conversation that is both infectious and invigorating.

“The songs took on a new life when Elliot joined us on stage,” shares Erika Brett, keyboardist and vocalist. “His thoughtful, unique saxophone brings a fresh perspective that energized us to improvise and vibe for extended jams. Pretty sure you can hear us smiling in the mix…”

Bass player Nate Bellon adds, “If you’ve said to yourself, ‘I wonder what The Empty Pockets would sound like with a world-class saxophonist,’ then buddy, have I got news for you.”

"Wolfpack" (Live) serves as a perfect preview of Live In Buffalo, an album that showcases The Empty Pockets at their finest, blending Americana, blues, and rock ‘n’ roll with an infectious energy and passion. The band’s unspoken musical dialogue, honed by countless miles on the road, is on full display as they embark on an exciting new chapter in 2025.

Fans of The Empty Pockets and newcomers alike will want to tune in for this stunning live performance—“Wolfpack” (Live) is the track that will have you hitting repeat.
