Paloma Faith: "There’s no mystery or excitement about being a pop star anymore"

Paloma Faith believes that today's pop music world is devoid of "mystery" and "excitement".

The singer, who is currently No.2 in the UK chart with her new album 'A Perfect Contradiction', told the Daily Star that she thinks social networking has limited the artistic spark in pop.

She said: "There’s no mystery or excitement about being a pop star anymore. People know everything now, there’s no stone unturned with social media.

"It was brilliant that David Bowie won a BRIT Award and totally deserved, he’s an incredible artist and the last of a generation."

Speaking about her own career, Faith added: "I wish they didn’t know everything about me. Originally when I got in the music business I wanted to be mysterious but I realised I wouldn’t get anywhere so became really open. It’s the only way to sell records now."
