Paloma Faith on BRITs snub: 'I was the only female in the Top 10 selling albums so I'm miffed'

Songstress Paloma Faith has revealed that being excluded from the BRITs British Album nominations list was offensive because her latest record did incredibly well and should have been considered.

During an interview with Britain's The Mirror, she admitted that not getting a BRITs nomination for her latest album 'A Perfect Contradiction', which was the fifth biggest-selling artist album of 2014, shocked and disappointed her:

"I was the only female in the top 10 selling albums. All the rest were men. I'm a bit miffed about the album category, but beggars can't be choosers and I am a beggar. I don't know why it isn't there."

Faith added: "It's funny how everyone went absolutely nuts for about three years at how women are ruling the music industry. And then they were like, 'We've given them three years, so let's suppress them for another 400'."

Nominees for Mastercard's British Album prize at tonight's (February 25) BRITs include an all-male line up of Alt-J's 'This Is All Yours', Ed Sheeran's 'X', George Ezra's 'Wanted On Voyage', Royal Blood's 'Royal Blood', and Sam Smith's 'In The Lonely Hour'.
