Paloma Faith on meeting the right person: ‘You should feel free’

Songstress and ‘The Voice’ coach Paloma Faith has revealed that she feels as though her boyfriend, French artist Leyman Lahcine, is her husband and they don’t need a marriage certificate to validate that.

Speaking to Sunday People, she explained that her first marriage, which ultimately ended in divorce, hasn’t put her off making that commitment again and she would consider it with her current partner:

“I think people change. I’m not ever saying no to marriage. My mum said if you feel trapped you’re in the wrong relationship but if you feel freer than when you’re single, you’ve met the right person. I’m in that place now. Leyman is my husband. You don’t need a marriage certificate.” Faith added: “We respond to things in the same way and just talk about things. We’re very similar characters.”

Last summer, she opened up about how she's treated in the industry and confessed that the power of make-up always surprises her: "I can tell that when I wear makeup and perfume, people treat me differently to when I don't. I think there are many elements to self-confidence, and beauty is certainly one of them, but if you're happy in yourself, that shows on the outside."

"I've always loved beauty and fashion. I was brought up by a family of women, and a lot of early conversations were about colour co-ordination and sequins. My ethos is to straddle the line between self-preservation and enjoyment. It is a thin line."
