Beatles icon Sir Paul McCartney has revealed that pop megastar Lady Gaga hung up on him after he reached out to ask if she was interested in working on a collaborative project. 

Earlier this year, Gaga told the press that the creative meeting almost didn't happen because she thought it was 'a prank' so she simply hung the phone up on him. McCartney has now clarified to Q magazine that while she did cut the call off, she hung up on his assistant:

"Actually it was my assistant, John, that she put the phone down on. But her story is much better."

On February 4, Gaga posted a snapshot of herself posing with the legend and told her fans: "Had a beautiful session with Sir Paul McCartney and friends. Working on one of his many secret projects! Killer musicians, vibe, and lots of laughs. Always a good time with my buddy. I'll never forget when he called me last year to work and I hung up the phone cuz I thought it was a prank!"
