Courtney Love "not amused" by Paul McCartney and Nirvana collaboration

Courtney Love is "not amused" by Sir Paul McCartney's collaboration with the surviving members of Nirvana.

It was revealed yesterday that Beatles legend McCartney was to join forces with remaining band members Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic to perform a new song at the 12.12.12 Hurricane Sandy benefit concert at Madison Square Garden.

The rock band lost singer Kurt Cobain in 1994 after he committed suicide, and widow Love told US website TMZ that she wasn't impressed with the on-stage collaboration.

She said of McCartney fronting the show: “[I’m] not amused. Look, if John [Lennon] were alive it would be cool."

McCartney, Grohl, Novoselic and Pat Smear took to the stage at last night's concert to perform a bluesy track  called 'Cut Me Some Slack.'

Madison Square Garden also saw performances from Jon Bon Jovi, Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel, Alicia Keys, Kanye West and The Rolling Stones.
