Paul Weller scores fourth number one album of solo career

Paul Weller has today reached the album chart top spot for the fourth time in his solo career with his 11th studio effort, 'Sonik Kicks.'

The 53-year-old’s follow-up to 2010’s ‘Wake Up The Nation’ fended off competition from David Guetta’s ‘Nothing But The Beat’ and last week's chart-topper, Military Wives' 'In My Dreams,' to join 1995’s ‘Stanley Road,’ 2002’s ‘Illumination’ and 2008’s ‘22 Dreams’ on his list of number one albums.

Elsewhere, Emeli Sande’s 'Our Version Of Events' and Adele’s '21' refused to budge from the Top Five, The Shins scored their highest chart position to date with 'Port Of Morrow,' at No.11, while there were also new entries from Miike Snow’s ‘Happy To You,’ at No.31 and Odd Future’s ‘The Odd Future Tape Vol. 2’ at No.40.
