Pendulum announce split, confirm 'there will be no further live shows'

Drum and bass stars Pendulum have revealed that they will no longer perform together.

Rob Swire has added a line to his official Twitter biography (June 19) that explains "there will be no further Pendulum live shows. There are no current plans for a new album in 2013".

The NME also reports that Swire recently told Australian radio station Triple J that his main priority now lies with Knife Party because there's no pressure:

"The Knife Party thing is going so well we don't really feel like going back to junior school anytime soon. We're having too much fun with this project. It's also great because Pendulum towards the end sort of felt like we were doing it because we had to and that's never a fun way to do music."

"Whereas Knife Party is pretty much solely us doing what we want to and if no-one likes it we don't care."

Swire has since returned to the social networking site to add that Paul "El Hornet" Harding will continue to treat fans to Pendulum DJ sets:

"Just to clarify, @elhornet will continue with the Pend DJ sets as normal. Didn't make that clear in the JJJ interview."
