Pete Doherty writes tribute single for Amy Winehouse

Pete Doherty has penned a song about the late singer Amy Winehouse.

The Libertines guitarist – who recently completed a treatment programme for drug addiction – has written the track ‘Flags Of The Old Regime’ about the ‘Back To Black’ singer who passed away in 2011.

‘Flags Of The Old Regime’ will officially be released on March 9 and all proceeds from the single will be donated to The Amy Winehouse Foundation.

The Amy Winehouse Foundation – which aims to prevent the effects of drug and alcohol misuse on young people – have called Pete’s song a “beautifully heartfelt tribute”.

Doherty is still currently based in Thailand where he spent time in rehab and is now working on new material with his Libertines co-frontman, Carl Barat.
