Pete Doherty released from prison early

Pete Doherty was released from prison yesterday, July 5.

The Libertines star finished his six-month sentence for cocaine possession early and a message on the Albion Rooms website told fans the news:

"On this bright sunny morning Peter was released from prison and thanks everyone for their valued support whilst inside.”

The musician's manager, Adrian Hunter, also posted an update on the French Dog Blues message board that read:

"Peter has been released as was reported there hours ago. Long day folks but a happy one. Many good things done. All's good and peace and quiet shall now ensue. A bit of 'bedding in' and reflection is on the cards and so much the better.”
