Pharrell Williams has opened up on his spiritual beliefs.

The US superstar was quizzed by Stylist magazine in a new interview about whether he believes in a higher power.

The 'Blurred Lines' hitmaker replied: "I believe in God but I also believe in the universe...and I believe in that innate ability to make decisions and to exercise our feelings as human beings.

“How do you see all the stars and think there’s nothing else out there? It’s so incredibly arrogant and pompous. It’s amazing that there are people who really believe that. It’s unbelievable."

Williams' 2013 track 'Happy' meanwhile was recently confirmed as the UK's most downloaded song in history.

The chart-topping tune has sold over 1.68 million copies in the country so far.
