Pitbull premieres Men In Black III theme

Pitbull has this afternoon premiered his official theme song for the upcoming blockbuster, ‘Men In Black III.’

The 31-year-old, who topped the charts in the UK twice last year with ‘Give Me Everything’ and J-Lo collaboration, ‘On The Floor,’ showcases a slightly different sound on the 3½ minute track, with its rockabilly twangs, dub-step breakdown and sample of Micky & Sylvia’s 1950s hit ‘Love Is Strange.’

It’s the first time that Will Smith, who stars alongside Tommy Lee Jones, Josh Brolin and Emma Thompson in the long-awaited follow-up, hasn’t performed the lead track for the franchise, having scored a number one with ‘Men In Black’ in 1997 and a Top 5 hit with ‘Black Suits Comin’' in 2002.

Director Barry Sonnenfeld, who admitted that the US rapper was only given the honour after being introduced to his music through his 19-year-old daughter, had previously revealed his delight at the track, commenting: “I'm thrilled that he wrote such a great song for our movie that totally gets it."

The track will be released as a single on May 6 with the film set to open in the UK on May 25.
