GENERAL PIVOTAL DETAILS:

Taking place on the 27th September 2019, Pivotal Music Conference will return for a second year to the Jewellery Quarter in Birmingham after it’s debut year in 2018. It’s first year saw 250 Delegates attend from all facets of the music industry and garnering support from the likes of The BPI, Association of Independent Music (AIM), ROTOR Videos, The Ticket Fairy, CD Baby and others. This time around sees Pivotal return with industry support from it’s new main sponsors AWAL, The Music Producers Guild (MPG), WARM and ACM and returning sponsors The Association of Independent Music (AIM), The BPI and ROTOR Videos. Pivotal received great praise for it’s first year including the below:

"AIM were thrilled to support the inaugural PIVOTAL. To have established the first music industry conference in Birmingham is a great achievement and PIVOTAL did an excellent job of connecting people. I made loads of fruitful connections with local music makers and companies. Roll on PIVOTAL 2019!"

Jude McArdle – The Association of Independent Music (AIM)

“Birmingham needs a flagship annual music industry conference in the calendar and so CD Baby were delighted to be a part of the inaugural Pivotal Music event.
Great to see the Midlands artist, label & management community all out in force - we look forward to returning next year.”

Rich Orchard – CD Baby

This year’s conference will take place across a number of venues over the course of the day and will feature panels, workshops, networking opportunities, keynotes and showcases supported by executives, artists and professionals from the worlds of distribution, licensing, new technologies, PR, production, songwriting, management. Pivotal will also once again feature an exhibition and label zone giving delegates access to a wide range of companies and labels.

Alongside the panels and workshops, Pivotal will feature several networking opportunities. These will include the well-received speed surgeries from the first year which again involve the main sponsors and others to be announced. As well as the speed surgeries, several other networking events will run throughout the day and give professionals and artists the chance to build relationships and develop new contacts throughout the day.

Chris Rogers founded Pivotal off the back of the development of the Birmingham Tribes networking nights and said:

“I am thrilled that Pivotal is coming back for a second year to the Jewellery Quarter in Birmingham. After it’s inaugural year last year and the success of it we are excited to continue to build upon that and involve some incredible partners and sponsors at this years event. The Birmingham and wider Midlands music scene is growing massively and Pivotal is here to continue to help develop the infrastructure of the industry in the city and shine the light on the talent that exists across the region.”

One of the new sponsors for this year ACM are excited to be involved and David Cronen provided this quote:

"We are delighted to announce our partnership with Pivotal Music Conference for 2019. Since ACM Birmingham was established we have always endeavoured to embrace and immerse ourselves within the local music industry on a creative and business basis. In my frequent visits to the city of Birmingham, I have realised that the city has its own microcosm of the music industry and does not have to rely on what is going on musically in London, Manchester or any other major city. I see the Pivotal Music Conference as the Midlands equivalent of The Great Escape event that will attract a whole host of influential and creative professionals and organisations from all over the world. We look forward to participating in all the events and seminars and showcasing the true talent that we have within our campus."

David Cronen – ACM

Alongside the packed daytime schedule the evening will see a number of artists and performers from a wide range of genres take to the stage to showcase not only the best talent that the Midlands has to offer, but the wider industry as well featuring artists from across the UK and a number of international acts.
