Plan B warns of the dangers of excessive sound, reveals tinnitus agony

Hitmaker Plan B has spoken out about the threat of tinnitus to music lovers and has urged his fans to start using ear plugs at live events.

Speaking to BBC's Newsbeat, the 'She Said' star explained that it's a serious problem that genuinely affects people who find themselves in situations where sound is excessive regularly and admitted that he has suffered from it in the past:

"I've been in clubs, in the DJ booth, and just felt my ears going. It was so loud and I thought, 'This ain't good'."

"So I had tinnitus for a while. I went and saw an ear specialist and got some ear plugs. It's all right now and I don't need them all the time but if you are a DJ or you produce, if you have the music loud you are damaging your ears."

Earlier this month, Coldplay's Chris Martin also spoke about his own experience of tinnitus and told his followers: "Looking after your ears is unfortunately something you don't think about until there's a problem. I wish I'd thought about it earlier."
