Queen guitarist Brian May has launched an official YouTube channel.

The musician opened his first channel on the video website on January 1.

May promises to include fresh content on the site as he looks into his other interests, such as animal welfare and science.

In an opening Brian Talks video post, the axeman said that he hopes to use the channel as another outlet in addition to his popular Soapbox website diary.

The launch came the day after Queen and Adam Lambert brought in the New Year for the BBC.

They played at London's Westminster Hall and their set was broadcast to the nation.
