Queen top list of the UK's most popular albums of all time

Queen are No.1 on a new list of the UK's most popular albums of all time.

The band's 1981 compilation 'Greatest Hits' has sold 6.1 million copies.

At No.2 on the Official Charts Company's rundown is ABBA's 'Gold: Greatest Hits', which has shifted 5.2 million units since it was released in 1992.

The Beatles' iconic 'Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band' is third with sales of 5.1 million.

Adele's '21' is fourth on the list despite only being released in 2011.

Oasis' '(What’s The Story) Morning Glory' rounds off the top five, with the likes of Michael Jackson, Dire Straits and Pink Floyd also featuring highly.

Ed Sheeran's 2014 effort 'x' is now in the top 60 having sold 2.6 million copies.

The new list has been revealed to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the UK albums chart.
