World AIDS Day: Street Collection and BAHQ Live!

OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE

NEWS PROVIDED BY
Queen

The Mercury Phoenix Trust will be marking World AIDS Day on Saturday 1st December with a street collection under the Bohemian Rhapsody lights on Carnaby Street, plus they will be joined once more by friends of the MPT, Bulsara and His Queenies who will be performing in the Queen Pop Up Store between 12 pm and 3 pm!

The success of the collection and BAHQ’s busking on Freddie’s birthday earlier in the year led to the MPT to be invited back by the Carnaby team, this time for some festive cheer and to highlight the importance of World AIDS Day.

Maureen Barclay, our Street Collection Co-ordinator said: "World AIDS Day, 1st December is just one day in the fundraising calendar when this worldwide problem should come to the forefront of everyone's minds. So come on down this year and support our group of passionate fundraisers and The Mercury Phoenix Trust, enjoy the music of Queen with Bulsara and His Queenies and show everyone what we are made of…Let's Do This!"

Bulsara and His Queenies take great pride in raising funds for The MPT. As we did in Montreux, we would simply LOVE to perform ‘Sheer Heart Attack’ in its entirety as well as lots of other ‘hits’ in the Queen Store on Carnaby Street on 1st December. We hope you can join us.” Paul Foster (Bulsara and His Queenies)
