Queen top list of Britain's best-selling albums in the UK of the last 50 years

Queen have topped a list of the biggest selling albums in the UK over the last 50 years.

Their 'Greatest Hits' album came out trumps in the list after selling 5.8 million copies since its release in 1981, reports the Daily Mail.

The countdown - which is part of a BBC Radio 2 special set to air on the station today (April 9) - will see The Beatles' 'Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band' land at No.2.

The third best selling album is ABBA's 'Gold', with Adele's '21' at No.6 - an incredible feat considering it was only released in 2011.

Madonna's 'The Immaculate Collection' charts at No.11 on the list, whilst Amy Winehouse's 'Back To Black' is No.12.
