Some people write songs about love; some people write songs about hate; UK-based singer-songwriter, SHK, has taken an entirely different, almost certainly completely unique source of inspiration – legendary Russian mixed-martial artist, Khabib Nurmagomedov! As one of his personal heroes, SHK has used Nurmagomedov as the basis of his new song, Undefeated, which projects a message to everyone, whether postman, schoolchild or nuclear physicist, no matter how impossible they may seem, go for all your dreams in life, remaining undefeated no matter what kind of circumstances you are facing.

Pakistan-born but now living in Reading, England, SHK is Shahzad Khan, a singer-songwriter and poet who is also a keen researcher of spirituality, Sufism and self-reformation. His other great passion is martial arts and it is the combination of all these elements that formed the basis of his newly-released single, Undefeated, a pop-rock track which not only sticks in your head for weeks melodically but also imparts a strong life message lyrically. The subject matter specifically is Russian UFC artist, Khabib Nurmagomedov who has gained legendary status in the world of MMA by remaining undefeated in all 28 of his fights, all of which were wins. Despite this extraordinary run of victories and his status among both fans and fellow-competitors, he has remained a devout Muslim and disciplined throughout his career, something which SHK wants to highlight with his track – that no matter what provocations and obstacles are presented to you in life, you can remain true to who you really are and still succeed.

Previously songwriter and guitarist with the band WAJD in Pakistan, SHK has release Undefeated and its accompanying video just in time for Nurmagomedov’s latest title fight, scheduled for 24th October against Justin Gaethje, with a hugely anticipated fight against long-time rival, Conor McGregor already looking likely early next year.
