New kid on the block Charlie Yang is headed for big things

The young London-based singer-songwriter and musician is set for a self titled debut release after collaborating with some of the biggest names in the industry

The 24th June 2013 marks the debut U.K release from London-based singer/songwriter and musician Charlie Yang. The self titled album has been a big project for the young pop-rock artist who writes, records and performs his own solo material, as well as collaborating with a host of other musicians.

The single “Jaded” has been remixed by Rachel Ellektra (known for her work with Bowie, Sony, Black Eyes Peas and Jessie J, Steve Strange, Angie Stone, Flash Brothers, Above Average Feat F.A.B.E and others). The club remix is currently doing the rounds in worldwide clubs with the assistance of Radio One Essential Mix creator Eddie Gordon who has had over 200 top 40 hits in his career. The single also comes with a short video that was produced and filmed by Matchbox Recordings and In-Site Films in Witney near the Cotswolds. With such high name support already we can certainly say Charlie is destined for big things.

Falling easily into the rock/pop genre, the album also utilises elements of blues, soul and funk to create a fresh new sound. Charlie has had a long term love affair with music, and his influences include U2, Billy Joel, The Temper Trap, Guillemots, Elton John, Michael Jackson, Prince, and The Meters. With his soulful and melodic falsetto vocals, catchy tunes and funky rock sound, certainly comparisons could be drawn to Muse, Keane, Maroon 5, and The Killers
