Steve Bonham Releases Single ‘Steady’ in Aid of Ataxia UK

5th May sees the launch of renowned folk musician Steve Bonham’s single in aid of Ataxia UK.

Following the release of the critically acclaimed album ‘The Moon’s High Tide’ in 2012, Steve Bonham felt compelled to do something to help Ataxia UK after experiencing the neurological disorder second-hand through his long-time musical collaborator and friend Tim Gadsby.  Ataxia is a disorder that affects balance, co-ordination and speech and it rendered Tim unable to perform anymore with his buddy Steve.

Steve Bonham is a folk veteran and has collaborated with folk royalty such as ex-Saw Doctor Pearce Doherty, Jimmy Higgins (Irish band Altan) and Fairport Convention’s legendary Dave Pegg.

The single is being launched at Bellingham All Acoustic Mini BAA on Sunday, 5th May at BellinghamTown Hall.  Other acts appearing include The Monster Ceilidh Band (Gareth Davies-Jones and Carly Blain)

Steve’s ‘Get Your Boots on Tour’ aimed at raising awareness and funds for Ataxia is being launched at BAAfest on Sunday starting a growing sequence of dates through 2013.  This will include, starting 26th May, a week-long tour of venues all along Hadrian’s Wall with Steve walking along the wall from gig to gig.
