When award-winning record producer Jonathan Hay was finally ready to green light his highly publicized passion-project to breathe new life into the Kurt Cobain legacy, he never expected his own life to be turned upside down. Hay has proven to the world that tragedy and pain can be embraced for the greater good and manifest into something special. We will hear this first hand in the double vinyl LP and compact disc global release of 'Come as You Are: Nirvana Reimagined as House and Techno' on October 7th through Fat Beats Records. The electronic Kurt Cobain tribute album was encapsulated by precarious events that took place behind the scenes when working on the project. While Nirvana Reimagined garnered headlining praise from the LGBTQ+ community, Hay endured an abundance of tragedy while piecing it together.

During his stay in Dallas, Texas, Hay's life-partner Diana Pagan suffered a near-fatal fentanyl overdose not long after the unexpected death of his biological mother Pam Nicely. Additionally, Hay has been dealing with a multi-million dollar lawsuit from his ex-fiancé that involves Quantez Gibson, an incarcerated man from Louisville, Kentucky who pleaded guilty to kidnapping and robbery charges in a violent home invasion traumatizing Hay. The storied producer harnessed his passion and love for Nirvana, conquering his hardships and refusing to let his depression and PTSD deter him from bringing his dream project to fruition this October. According to Forbes, JT Barnett (original producer and director of Tiger King) and Brooklyn creative Craig Guerra bring this to life in the upcoming documentary House Invasion.

"I really hope Frances Bean Cobain appreciates 'Come As You Are: Nirvana Reimagined as House and Techno' because it seems as if she may understand the essence of Burning Man and house music culture. Nirvana fans may be taken aback by our genre-flipped project that was created with a deep adoration for Kurt Cobain and his spirit of advocacy. The core of house music is all about love and positivity, which despite all the angst, is what Nirvana is truly about. I think if Kurt were alive, he would support the songs he wrote reimagined into house, techno and nu jazz music."- Jonathan Hay (as told to journalist Ron Hart)

'Come As You Are: Nirvana Reimagined as House and Techno' follows up Jonathan Hay's 'Follow the Leader (Reimagined as Jazz)', the collaborative album with the legendary Eric B. & Rakim that hit #1 on the Billboard Jazz Charts and remained on the charts for a staggering 11-weeks. The electronic Nirvana Reimagined embodies Kurt Cobian, Dave Grohl, and Krist Novoselic's purposeful narrative of LGBTQ+ visibility, advancement, and advocacy for victims of rape and sexual abuse that inspired change worldwide. Hay collaborated with several artists such as the multi-platinum artist JPatt from The Knocks (Sofi Tukker), creative producer/advocate Daniella Carter (Emmy award-winning MTV documentary), Grammy-award-winning musician Maurice Brown (Anderson . Paak), Pink Floyd saxophonist Scott Page, Cain McKnight (Eric B. & Rakim), Fishbone founder/musician John Norwood Fisher, Mink (Teksupport), Sara Cooper (Carl Cox) and house music pioneer Chip E (Frankie Knuckles).

"And while a fair amount of tomb-raiding has occurred on Cobain's behalf—Nirvana Reimagined is one of a few tributes that align with his principles." - GRAMMY.com
