Red Hot Chili Peppers on David Bowie rejection: 'He was a true gentleman'

Rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers have opened up about being turned down for a collaboration by the late music legend David Bowie and they revealed that he was incredibly thoughtful and polite in how he handled the situation.

Chatting to Classic Rock magazine, the band's frontman Anthony Kiedis explained that the icon was a "true gentleman" in declining their offer to work together:

"He wrote us extremely thoughtful, kind letters explaining why he couldn't - whether he was busy or just into something else at the moment. But a true gentleman, not a guy who just blows you off without an explanation."
