Today, critically acclaimed Norwegian indie-pop songstress Dagny shares her new single “Hit Your Heart” with Steve Aoki.

On the track Dagny said: "After watching ‘Hit You Heart’ become a fan’s favorite in our live set, I sent a demo of it to Steve and he immediately wanted to be involved in the production. I wanted it to feel strong and powerful and capture that energy that came upon both us and our audience whilst playing it live - and that’s exactly what Steve added. I’ve been so excited to release this track and I hope it hits people’s heart-pun intended.”

On working with Dagny, Steve Aoki noted: “This collaboration came naturally I think to both of us. Her voice is so luscious and adaptable that I felt like I had a lot of musical freedom to produce something that would suit her vocals. She could fit into any genre, and that’s something I really admire about her.”

With production powerhouse Aoki at the helm, “Hit Your Heart” blurs the lines between pop, electronic, and dance music with an undeniable and unpredictable soundscape punctuated by horns and organic percussion. Meanwhile, the track showcases the gritty, soulful side of Dagny’s voice as she carries a hypnotic hook, “I’m coming back to you like a bullet.”

Aoki has skillfully executed vocal production, putting singer’s voices in the forefront and melodically building support below. Recently, Aoki teamed up with K-Pop megastars Monsta X to make “Play it Cool”, taking their noteworthy vocals to the next level. Similarly, Dagny’s voice comes to life on this track, making it clear that she is a force in the pop industry.
