NEW YORK, NY (October 15th, 2021) — Today, buzzing singer and songwriter Stephen Sanchez releases high debut What Was, Not Now EP available via Republic Records.

Sanchez wrote all the songs on the EP but worked with Ian Fitchuck (Kacey Musgraves & James Bay) as executive producer on the project. On the release of the new EP and working with Ian, Sanchez said: "This EP is a catalogue of stories filled with real memories and conversations. It’s the heart on my sleeve and remains so precious to me. When people listen to it I them to feel something real. Working with Ian on this project was incredible, he is gentle, kind, intentional and precious in everything he does. As a friend or as a producer, he is real and someone I’m so proud to know.”
In addition, Sanchez has also released a live video for his latest track “Hold Her While You Can.” Sanchez introduces the performance saying “This song means a lot to me. The song is written about holding on to those that you love the most and being very very intentional with the time that you have (with them).” He will continue releasing more live videos of songs off of the EP including “I Want You” coming out today at 3pm EST and “Love Live” out next Friday, October 22nd.

With only four songs out Stephen has already created a following for himself after posting his song “Lady By The Sea” which racked up over 5 million Spotify streams and over 2 million views on TikTok. Since then he has reached over 2.2 million likes on the platform, has over 123,000 fans and has amassed over 8.3 million views across all videos posted.
