Reservoir Media, Inc. (NASDAQ: RSVR) (“Reservoir” or the “Company”), an award-winning independent music company, today announced a new publishing deal with Grammy-nominated writer-producer Dennis Lambert. The deal includes Lambert’s entire catalog, including his hit co-writes “We Built This City” by Starship, “Nightshift” by the Commodores, “Don’t Look Any Further” by Dennis Edwards and Siedah Garrett, as well as future works.

Lambert was one of the most successful and diverse songwriters and producers throughout the 1970s and 80s. He has countless #1 songs across genres and four Grammy nominations to his name. In the late 1960s, Lambert teamed up with Brian Potter, and the pair earned success writing and producing hit songs for artists such as Grass Roots, Gayle McCormick, Coven and Hamilton, Joe Frank & Reynolds. Together, Lambert and Potter also penned and co-produced several tracks off the Four Tops’ album Keeper of the Castle, including the title track and “Ain’t No Woman (Like the One I Got),” which landed near the top of Billboard’s Hot 100.

By the mid-1970s, Lambert and Potter formed their own label, Haven Records, under which the pair notably produced all and co-wrote much of Glen Campbell’s 1975 album Rhinestone Cowboy. Lambert earned Grammy nominations for Record of the Year and Best Producer of the Year for his work on the title song, “Rhinestone Cowboy.” Additionally, the title track topped the Hot Country Singles and Lambert’s co-written “Country Boy (You Got Your Feet in LA)” reached #3 on that same chart. Lambert and Potter also enjoyed major hits with Tavares’ “It Only Takes A Minute,” “She’s Gone” and “Remember What I Told You To Forget,” as well as a Top 5 hit with “Rock And Roll Heaven” by the Righteous Brothers.

In the 1980s, Lambert continued to gain recognition writing and producing on his own. Some of his acclaimed collaborations during this time include Grammy-winning and Gold-selling “Nightshift” by the Commodores and Gold-selling #1 single “We Built This City” by Starship. In 2022, Bruce Springsteen released a cover of “Nightshift,” extending the legacy of that classic track. Furthermore, Lambert has inspired today’s top hitmakers, and his works have been sampled by the likes of Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, Tupac, Queen Latifah, Big Sean, Yung Gravy, Kodak Black, and more.

On the new deal, Lambert said, “There’s only one Reservoir Media, and that is now home. I’ve had long standing relationships with several of the Reservoir executives so there is a comfort level built in. My catalog of songs and masters and the Lambert and Potter catalog is now in the very best of hands going forward.”

Reservoir EVP of Creative John Ozier added, “Dennis is a powerhouse songwriter and producer who has been creating hits across genres for decades. It is a very proud moment for all of us at Reservoir to welcome him into the family, be the caretakers for his prestigious catalog, and help him deliver his next hit.”
