Rihanna's 'Man Down' video won't be banned

After a backlash of criticism surrounding her newly released video for 'Man Down', Rihanna will be pleased to know that it won't be pulled from television channel BET.

The content deals with both murder and sexual assault, but a spokesperson from BET explained that it met the station's guidelines and will not be taken off of playlists:

"BET has a comprehensive set of standards and guidelines that are applied to all of our content. The Rihanna 'Man Down' video complied with these guidelines and was approved for air."

The Bajan beauty herself took to Twitter last night, June 2,

"The music industry isn't exactly Parents R Us! We have the freedom to make art, LET US! Its your job to make sure they dont turn out like US"

Addressing the adult subject matter in the video, she added:

"Cuz we all know how difficult/embarrassing it is to communicate touchy subject matters to anyone especially our parents! And this is why! Cuz we turn the other cheek! U can't hide your kids from society,or they'll never learn how to adapt! This is the REAL WORLD!"
