Rihanna 'shocks' Oprah Winfrey during interview

Chat show icon Oprah Winfrey recently sat down with Rihanna for a exclusive interview in which she opened up about the Chris Brown assault of three years ago.

Preview clips of the full chat have surfaced ahead of the scheduled premiere on August 19 and Rihanna reveals her feelings about what happened, admitting: "It was embarrassing it was humiliating... I lost my best friend."

Although none of the 'Where Have You Been' singer's answers are revealed in the new teaser trailers, Oprah can be heard saying: "I would have never thought that. You just shocked me."

She added: "I went there with my own ideas about who she was from watching her videos and listening to her music. I thought she was gonna be kind of a badass, a kind of hard edged, rocker, pop woman. Nothing could have been farther from the truth."

Rihanna also confessed that she's "super duper afraid of the pedestal that comes with fame" and talked candidly about life in the spotlight: "it's amazing how lonely you can feel."
