Rihanna has revealed that her tattoos help showcase her thoughts on religion.

The pop superstar has numerous tattoos inked on her skin, such as a sanskrit prayer down her right hip.

The Sun quotes Rihanna as saying that each tattoo is "spiritual", noting an Egypitan falcon style piece of body art in particular. She said:

"My tattoos are all spiritual and show how I feel about religion. I have a falcon which is an Egyptian falcon and is supposed to stand for God."

As previously reported, Rihanna recently showed off her latest tattoo with a revealing photo on Twitter.

The image sees the Egyptian goddess Isis inked across her ribcage in what appears to be a dedication to her late grandmother.
