Bajan beauty Rihanna has posted a photo message in response to claims that she can behave like a 'bad role model'.

She uploaded the picture to her official Instagram account earlier today and hit back at those who have criticised her for sharing images of herself smoking marijuana, drinking and spending time with Chris Brown. Rihanna accompanied the photo with the caption, "Feb 3 #rolemodelsh*t #photochallenge."

Written across the image is the statement: "Don't call me a bad role model then act surprised when I do some bad role model type sh*t."

The 'Diamonds' songstress also treated her fans to a second personal photograph, captioned with "#rolemodelsh*t", which shows her with family.

Last month, Rihanna gave a frank interview to Rolling Stone magazine and confirmed her reconciliation with former flame Chris Brown: "I decided it was more important for me to be happy. I wasn't going to let anybody's opinion get in the way of [my happiness]. Even if it's a mistake, it's my mistake. After being tormented for so many years, being angry and dark, I'd rather just live my truth and take the backlash. I can handle it."
