Rihanna 777 tour documentary to be shown in the UK

Rihanna's 777 tour documentary has been given a UK air date.

The singer embarked on an ambitious worldwide jaunt in November last year alongside journalists and fans as she played seven shows in a week in seven cities.

Its documentary was originally broadcast in the US then given a DVD release in May.

However, it will receive a UK TV premiere on October 26 by 4Music. Commenting on the news, Director of Programming at Box TV Dave Young said: "We are delighted to have the UK broadcasting rights to 'Rihanna 777', giving our viewers unprecedented access to one of the most-talked about popstars ever."

He added: "Rihanna is notorious for sharing her personal life with fans and now the UK's leading music TV channel is taking it to a new level with 90 minutes of behind-the-scenes action."

Rihanna's 777 tour, however, came under fire at the time from journalists who complained of uncomfortable conditions and the lack of access to the singer.

They reportedly at one point chanted in group unison "Just one quote, just one quote" in retaliation at the 'Stay' star's insistence on not doing any interviews.

The tour was organised to promote Rihanna's album 'Unapologetic', which was released in November 2012.
