Second Single Release of Romina Arena Emphasizes Quality of Upcoming Album “Morricone.Uncovered”

Additional Songs to Be Released Tomorrow

Two songs from “Morricone.Uncovered”, the long-awaited album by Romina Arena, will be available on a second single release. "The Woman in Me" and "What Can I Do?" both emphasize the quality of the upcoming album that will be released on September 18, 2012. The single is available at a price of $6.95 and can be ordered on the website of Perseverance Records (www.perseverancerecords.com) as of tomorrow. In addition, it will be available in Italian stores exclusively as of August 27, 2012.

Romina says: “I am very happy to have a second single release right after the first one. People seem to love my songs, and they can´t wait to get the complete album. I am blessed having these fans all over the world.”

“The Woman in Me” is from the motion picture “Lolita” which is based on Vladmir Nabokov’s controversial book of the same title. Adrian Lyne’s movie from 1997 was actually the second big screen adaptation of the novel. Morricone’s music for the film is a straightforward romantic opus for the most part, reflecting on Professor Humbert’s pining for Lolita. “The Woman in Me” captures this pure Platonic romance in its clearest form, just before the dissonant cues in Morricone’s score start to reveal the more twisted side of Humbert’s feelings.

“What Can I Do?” is from the motion picture “The Legend of 1900” which is based on the theatrical monologue “Novecento” by Alessandro Baricco. The film from 1998 tells the story of a talented but troubled pianist, who was found as an orphan aboard a ship on the first day of the new century. The boy shows great promise and talent in music, but is unable to cope with the unknown and takes the easier road even if it means total destruction. Accordingly, “What Can I Do?” is about the choices and the roads not taken in a hard situation.

The upcoming album “Morricone.Uncovered” will feature 15 tracks, adding lyrics to several movie soundtracks by Ennio Morricone. With a running time of 57 minutes, the album is available for $15.95 and can also be pre-ordered on the website of Perseverance Records. Earlier this month, there was a first single release from “Morricone.Uncovered”, featuring "Ti Ho Amato" from “Once Upon a Time in America” and "What Can I Do?" from “The Legend of 1900”.
