Rotor Videos – the intelligent app that makes music video creation easy and affordable – has announced an exclusive deal with SoundCloud, adding the world’s largest music and audio platform to its roster of key music industry partnerships.

The partnership deal with Rotor sees SoundCloud Pro Unlimited members benefit from 20% discount on all its video and subscription packages. With over 30 million creators on the platform, SoundCloud is available in 190 countries and territories around the globe.

This deal boosts Rotor’s roster of DIY distribution service partners – adding to CD Baby, ReverbNation, TuneCore, Horus Music and Beatchain – and is announced as the company launches its new subscriptions model.

Rotor’s new subscription plans offer the choice of three tiers of ultra-affordable options for artists and small labels to create music, lyric, promo and teaser videos in increased volumes according to their business and budget requirements. Helping fill the space left by restrictions to live music performance during the Covid-19 pandemic, Rotor continues to connect artists with fans by enabling the creation of pro-quality promotional content from the safety of home.

• DIY Plan is $19 per month. It includes five long-form videos per month or 60 long-form videos per year.

• Pro Plan is $49 per month and includes 10 long-form videos per month or 180 long-form videos per year.

• Indie Plan is $99/month, it includes 50 long-form videos per month or 600 long-form videos per year.

• All plans include unlimited 30-second promo videos.

Additionally, tailored plans are available for labels and catalogue owners requiring higher volumes of videos and more customisation.

Diarmuid Moloney, Rotor Videos CEO and founder, says: “It is a privilege to partner with SoundCloud as a renowned company trusted and utilised by so many musicians globally, and whose business values align with Rotor’s. We both strive to provide tools to empower the spectrum of talent in the creative communities we serve, with one place to engage an audience, polish and finish creations, monetise music and distribute to the world.

“Particularly during the Covid-19 pandemic, there is more visual content needed to engage the eyes and ears of increased potential audiences online and at home. We have carefully considered how to make music video creation super easy and affordable for all artists, with the launch of our new subscription tiers further supporting their multi-media aspirations without compromising on innovation and quality.”

Alex Branson, Rotor Videos Head of Partner Development, adds: “As we work to make Rotor the video provider of choice for music makers, it is great to partner with SoundCloud as a leader in its field. We look forward to seeing, and sharing, the abundance of music video creations from its talented creator community.”

Making the business of creating music videos accessible, simple and affordable across the music industry, Rotor’s client base includes independent artists, managers and labels, as well as all three major labels.

Available via desktop and mobile browsers, Rotor is empowering users to make music videos online in a matter of minutes. After sign-up, the cloud-based AI tool enables the creation of videos in a few simple steps: upload your track, pick your video clips (your own or from the Rotor library), and choose an editing and effects style. Rotor listens to the music and cuts everything together for the artist, adjusting the timings of clips and effects based on the rhythm, tempo and intensity of the track. A preview video is created and made available to purchase and download as is, or with further customisation including added text, lyrics and changes to edits.

Rotor recently announced the appointments of Branson and Pj Dulay in a boost to its business development operation. The company also reported significant business growth during the first lockdown, recording a 55% increase in user registrations and a 161% increase in B2C app revenue.
