Sky Cinema Original Films has added the eagerly awaited movies Life Itself and Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile to its slate of forthcoming releases.

In addition, Sky Cinema Original Films – which adopts the innovative approach of releasing in cinemas and on Sky Cinema on the same day - has also secured UK distribution rights to Matthew McConaughey-led noir thriller Serenity.

Life Itself – a moving tale of two families interconnecting over multiple generations – is written and directed by Dan Fogelman, the creator of This Is Us, and writer of Crazy, Stupid, Love. Life Itself also brings an all-star cast to the screen, with Oscar Isaac, Olivia Cooke and Antonio Banderas among the A-listers starring.

Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile sees acclaimed true crime documentary maker Joe Berlinger travel back into the world of narrative film with a chilling and disturbing thriller telling the story of serial killer Ted Bundy, and stars Zac Efron as Bundy, alongside Lily Collins, John Malkovich and Jim Parsons.

The new films add to a strong slate of titles for Sky Cinema Original Films that includes the upcoming British action thriller Final Score, which stars Dave Bautista and Pierce Brosnan.

Final Score - set in London and directed by British director Scott Mann – releases in cinemas and on Sky Cinema on 7 September, and sees action hero Bautista embark on saving thousands when a football match he is attending is threatened by terrorists.

The new films follow on from animated adventure Monster Family, disaster thriller The Hurricane Heist and cyber mystery Anon as the latest Sky Cinema Original Films.

Sky Cinema Group Director Ian Lewis said "I'm thrilled that we've acquired these fantastic titles to add to our Sky Cinema Original Films offering. It takes our originals slate to another level with some great films that we're really excited about bringing to the UK market.

They're all really fantastic propositions with some big names attached and will get people down to the cinema or watching on Sky Cinema."

Sky Cinema Original Films are available in cinemas and on Sky Cinema on the same day and are available to Sky Cinema customers at no extra cost. They form part of an exciting offering on Sky Cinema that also includes a brand new premiere every day, over 1000 movies on demand, and more blockbusters closer to cinema release than anywhere else.
