Sam Smith on fear of flying: 'I think I'm going to die every time I get on a plane'

British vocal sensation Sam Smith has revealed that he suffers from a crippling fear of flying, which is unfortunate because his career is so busy that travel is something he has to do a lot of.

The singer told Digital Spy that he just really hates flying because he doesn't feel at all in control of the situation so worries about it the whole time he's in the air:

"I'm really scared of flying. Like, really really really scared... My main incentive now is to be so successful that I can get a private jet and sit with the pilot. I got upgraded to first class the other week, but even there I was still scared. I could be massaged for the whole flight and still think I'm going to die."

It was then suggested to the 'Stay With Me' superstar that he might consider undergoing hypnotherapy to cure his fear and he confessed it's something he has been seriously weighing up: "I might do that actually. I've been thinking about it."
