Sam Smith treated fans to a guest duet with Ed Sheeran at a gig this week.

The singer was performing at the Albert Hall in Manchester on Wednesday (October 29) when the audience got a little more than they bargained for.

Smith welcomed Ed Sheeran out onto the stage during his hit song 'Stay With Me'.

Speaking online after the duet, 'In The Lonely Hour' hitmaker Smith posted online:

"So amazing to have this KING @teddysphotos on stage with me tonight. Such a wise and true friend to have. Love ya brother x."

Next up meanwhile for Smith is a second date at the Albert Hall in Manchester tonight (October 30).
