Sam Smith returns to No.1 in the UK with 'In The Lonely Hour'

British singer-songwriter Sam Smith has returned to the top spot on the UK's albums chart today in the midweek update with 'In The Lonely Hour'.

The vocal sensation has climbed two places to sit at the coveted No.1 spot once again and if he maintains his lead until the positions are confirmed on Sunday, January 11 it will mark his fifth non-consecutive week at the top.

George Ezra's 'Wanted On Voyage' has dropped one place to No.2, Ed Sheeran's 'X' is currently at No.3, Taylor Swift's new offering '1989' is a non-mover at No.4, and Olly Murs' 'Never Been Better' has moved up one spot to sit at No.5.

Elsewhere on the albums chart Top 40, OneRepublic's 'Native' has leaped 20 places to No.6, Sia has shot up a massive 60 places to No.12 with her record '1000 Forms Of Fear', and British pop-rock band The Vamps move 38 to No.15 with their debut effort 'Meet The Vamps'
