Sam Smith has called upon his fans to help him land two Brit awards.

The singer is nominated for a total of five gongs at the ceremony, which is due to take place at London's O2 Arena on February 25.

Two of the prizes - Best British Breakthrough and British Artist Video of the Year - are fan voted.

Smith took to YouTube on Thursday (January 29) to post a video of himself asking fans to vote for him in the two categories.

The singer meanwhile is also nominated for the British Album, British Male Solo Artist and British Single sections.

Smith released his debut album 'In The Lonely Hour' in 2014.
