Sam Smith and John Legend's Comic Relief single stays at No. 1 for a second week

Sam Smith and John Legend have secured a further week at the top of the UK chart with their duet version of ‘Lay Me Down’.

The musical pair re-recorded Smith’s tune in order to raise funds for this year’s Comic Relief.

‘Lay Me Down’ managed to see off competition from Years & Years, who are a non-mover at No. 2 this week with ‘King’, by creating a sales lead of 9000 copies.

At No. 3 this week is Rihanna with ‘FourFive Seconds’ which is up two places and sees her accompanied by Kanye West and Paul McCartney.

James Bay has broken into the Top Five with ‘Hold Back The River’ rising six places to No. 4.

Completing this week’s Top Five is Ellie Goulding’s ‘Love Me Like You Do’, down one to No. 5.

New entries to the Top 40 this week come from Tough Love at No. 11 with ‘So Freakin’ Tight’, Pitbull and Ne-Yo at No. 28 with ‘Time Of Our Lives’, and MNEK at No. 38 with ‘The Rhythm’.
