Sam Smith has pulled more live shows as he continues to recover from a vocal injury.

The singer recently confirmed that he was rescheduling Australia dates after suffering from a vocal cord haemorrhage.

However, he has now cancelled dates in Japan and Manila as he jets to the US for specialist treatment.

Smith said on Instagram today (May 5): "Very upset about Japan and Manilla dates.

"I've just left Australia and I'm on my way to the states to see a specialist to see what to do from there...This is f*cking horrid."

The singer was due to perform at Tokyo's Studio Coast on May 7 and 8, with a gig at the Mall of Asia Arena in Manila planned for May 10.
